K. Velis Turan part of Hudson Valley Art & Wine Invitational
An aerial view of the beautiful Hudson Valley
"Millbrook Winery is pleased to welcome K. Velis Turan as their “paired” artist for the Year-long Celebration of Art & Wine in the Hudson Valley"
Professional artists were selected to be a part of the "A Year-long Celebration of Art & Wine in the Hudson Valley”. The selected artists will create two pieces of work based on their visits to their chosen wineries.
"Working in conjunction with Hudson Valley tourism agencies, museums, and galleries, the event will pair Hudson Valley artists with Hudson Valley /wineries and vineyards. A juried selection of professional artists will be invited to create, in their own chosen medium, a wine- or vineyard-inspired artwork by pairing with a specific Hudson Valley winery. Their art will be featured throughout the year in various promotions and events, and will be featured at a Grand Art & Wine event to be held in Westchester County in May 2011 at Lyndhurst, a National Trust Historic Site. The exhibit will then travel to four art galleries located in the Hudson Valley, including “M Gallery” in Catskill, and “Hudson Valley Gallery” in Cornwall."

Among the subjects stressed are: color cycles, color symbolism and cues, color and geography, national color preferences, color codes and color as a cultural experience. The trickle down of color popularity from apparel to consumer goods and services is examined in relation to overall consumer color preferences and timing. Included are explorations of international color trend and color services.
