You’re Invited! SDA GATHERING AT SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY

Saturday, September 11

Time: 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM ( with gallery opening reception following)

Location: Syracuse University @The Warehouse, 350 West Fayette St., Syracuse, NY 13202

Meet fellow SDA members, tour the Syracuse University fiber facilities, hear presentations from fiber faculty about their work, visit MFA studios and discuss grad students’ work. We’ll end the day with a session where for all participating SDA members can share images of their work and talk briefly about them.

For those who can stay beyond 4 PM, enjoy the opening reception for the surface pattern design and fiber faculty exhibition, “Pliable Planes: Cloth and Beyond”.

There is no cost to participate, although you’ll have to pay a $5 parking fee. And you are welcome to bring friends who are not SDA members. (We may pass the hat to make a donation to the SU fiber department for hosting us.)

Please e-mail jeannerbeck@gmail.com to reserve your spot.

A final schedule will be posted on the August 8 In A New York Minute blog. You must reserve by Wednesday, September 1.

We are hoping to hold more of these exciting, informative program days at colleges and universities with fiber programs all around New York State.

What a great way for students, faculty and members out in the field to interact and learn from one another. As you must know, there’s a lot of creative energy that starts flying when artists get together.

Please get in touch with NYS SDA area representative Jeanne Beck at jeannerbeck@gmail.com if you’d like to be involved in the planning process for other program days around the state.

Exciting News From Sandra Sider:
