SEDUCTIVE FELTS TO WRAP YOURSELF UP IN : JULY 5-8...One place open..Felting experience required.
This class will approach felted fabrics for body wraps, such as scarves and shawls through smaller items as preliminary study for independent work on a larger scale. Jorie has co-authored an advanced feltmaking publication on scarves (Fabulous Felted Scarves, Lark Books) and will use these published examples as her departure point.
TRADITIONAL NOMADIC DESIGN THROUGH CUSHION AND MAT MAKING : July 10-12...one place open
Learn "your" nomadic heritage and practice the simplicity of feltmaking. Through slide talks and demonstrations we will focus on the history and elemental design of the world's most beautiful felt carpets. Working with vegetable dyed and natural color wool we will add to the richness of the objects we choose to make through the choice of contemporary shape. Participants will be working in small groups which offers everyone "assistants" and makes the work more enjoyable while the sports muscles are put to use.
