Archie Brennan & Susan Martin Maffei are internationally-known tapestry artists who have been working in their chosen medium for a combination of more than 85 years! They have exhibited and taught in museums, universities, galleries and art centers around the World and have work in both public and private collections.
Textile Society of America Symposium and Silent Auction Opportunity
The Textile Society Symposium will be held October in Lincoln, Nebraska October 6 –9, 2010.
“COLOR IT TWILL”- a tapestry by Lillian Elliott 1973
TSA Silent Auction
In conjunction with the Symposium, the Lillian Elliott Award Committee is conducting a silent auction for a beautiful, small tapestry woven by Lillian Elliott. The proceeds support the fund, from which an award is offered every two years to a promising artist working in the textile medium. The tapestry can be seen at the Tugboat Gallery during the exhibition “Surrounded: Large and Small Work by Lillian Elliott Awardees”, October 1-29. This exhibition features awardees Frances Dorsey (1995), Marcie Miller Gross (1996) and Soonran Youn, (2002)
The successful bidder of the Silent Auction will be announced at the Textile Society of America Symposium banquet, Friday, October 8.
