SDA Update February 1, 2009

Barbara Schauwecker and Tom Hohmann Invitation

Tom and Barbara have been living in Bedford Stuyvesant, NY for the past seven years. Barbara enjoys making one of a kind garments for her company, Bobbi Clothes, making music with the experimental group, Animental, and hanging out in parks with their dog Jimmy. Tom enjoys fishing, reading Native American poetry as well as playing music with the Usaisamonster and Elvish Presley. This is Barbara and Tom's second collaborative art show. Their first, "new Wijiji, New Age Frontier, was shown at
Mountain Fold Gallery, in September, 2008.

Exhibition Dates Extended

Due to the overwhelming response, Lyons Wier-Ortt Gallery has extended the "Narrative Thread" exhibition for one more week.

EXHIBITION CLOSES: Monday, February 9, 2009
Hours: Monday - Saturday, 11-7, Sunday 12-6.

The Surface Design Association seeks to forge affiliations among artists, collectors and supporters and broaden the educational resources and networks that enrich our field. We champion insightful, stimulating and thought-provoking applications of surface design that take fiber arts to new levels and lead the art community to increased understanding and appreciation of our media.

We invite artists, collectors and supporters to join the Surface Design Association. Individual Membership costs $60 a year (half price for full-time students) and provides you with a subscription to the Surface Design Journal, a quarterly publication highlighting contemporary fiber artists, art and exhibition news.
